Description
Yttria fully stabilized zirconia (with 8 mol% Y₂O₃) is a commonly used and well characterized ceramic electrolyte material. YSZ-8 is used as an SOFC electrolyte membrane in solid oxide fuel cells and as a component in composite cathodes or cermet anodes. The relatively low surface area and mid-range particle size of this YSZ-8 powder make it well-suited as an additive for controlling sintering shrinkage of YSZ electrolyte and anode layers in SOFCs.
