Description
This composite air electrode powder is a 50/50 wt% mixture of lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite and Gd-doped ceria and is typically used as the first layer in a two-layer cathode, where the second (top) layer is pure LSCF. This two-layer approach provides higher performance than single-layer LSCF cathodes, and can be used with all ceramic electrolyte materials. A ceria barrier layer is recommended when using LSCF-GDC cathodes with zirconia based electrolytes. This LSCF-GDC cathode material can be applied by screen printing, painting or spraying after it is formulated into appropriate inks or suspensions.
